We have made it as far as Cándas near Gijón in Asturias on the north coast of Spain.  Camping Cándas has got to be the most ridiculously pretty campsite we have ever stayed in.  The grass is full of yellow and white daisies, there are butterflies and birds and the actual site is on a headland overlooking the sea and the cute little town of Cándas.

The town of Cáldas is perfect for a short visit- it is also very pretty with lovely, old, well preserved houses, a super little park filled with sculpture and a working light houseImage

It was interesting to see that they have English bluebells in Spain

Talking of blue- I have learnt a useful lesson on this trip.  I bought some pure polyester sheets because the polly cotton ones felt damp on cold mornings.  If you don’t wash them thoroughly enough, the dye comes out and you end up looking a bit like a Smurf!

We move on to our final stop tomorrow- Bilbao to catch the ferry on Thursday.  We will be sad to leave Spain and we really want to come back.
